Caught - Prologue
Sarah took a bite of the banana she held, angry that her mother had left her to deal with her baby brother. After hours of playing with the three-year-old, he had finally fallen asleep on the couch, tightly clutching his toy sheriff's badge. She sighed, plopping down on the couch beside him, and looked up at the ceiling.
"You look bored," came a voice from the kitchen. She glanced over, her banana lifted up near her mouth, and groaned when she saw her friend. He wore all black armor, as usual, with dark hair flowing over the midnight blue cape on his shoulders.
